Welcome to Tales of Khassid

You have discovered a fantasy world built for tabletop play, storytelling, and exploration.

Khassid is the world itself: a place shaped by divine power, mortal choice, and the consequences left behind by both. Its gods are real and active, its histories still influence the present, and the decisions made during play can become part of what the world remembers.

Tales of Khassid is where that world is shared through campaign settings, game material, stories, articles, and the collected records of the Aelorian Archives.

Whether you have come here to run a campaign, create a character, read the lore, or simply see what lies beyond the next page, you are welcome.

What Is Tales of Khassid?

Tales of Khassid is a fantasy tabletop setting and an ongoing creative project published by Aelorian Press (opens in a new tab). It is not a single story with a predetermined ending. It is a world in which many stories can be told, including those created by the people who bring it to their own tables.

Khassid has its own nations, peoples, faiths, histories, institutions, conflicts, and cosmology. You do not need to learn all of them before you begin. The setting is meant to be entered one region at a time, with the wider world revealed as it becomes relevant.

Where Does the Setting Begin?

The first offering from Tales of Khassid is The Morgdhavian Archipelago, a free campaign setting launching on July 26, 2026.

The sourcebook focuses on three islands—Athos, Kaxon, and Nelythos—and provides a complete starting region for play. Together, they introduce the Archipelago’s people, government, faiths, history, settlements, dangers, and unresolved conflicts while leaving room for Game Masters and players to shape what happens next.

Khassid extends far beyond these islands, but no knowledge of the wider world is required before entering the Archipelago.

What Do I Need to Begin?

If you want to run a campaign, begin with The Morgdhavian Archipelago sourcebook when it becomes available. It contains the setting information needed to understand the region and begin developing adventures within it. You will also need the core rules used by your gaming group.

If you are joining a campaign as a player, your Game Master can tell you which parts of the setting are most relevant to your character. You do not need to master Khassid’s entire history, divine order, or geography before creating someone who lives there.

If you are here to read and explore, you need nothing at all. Begin with whatever catches your attention and follow it as deeply as you wish.

Do I Need to Read Everything?

No.

Khassid is a large world, and the Aelorian Archives contains material drawn from many parts of it. Some visitors will want to study its gods and histories. Others will be interested in particular peoples, places, vocations, creatures, or events. None of that knowledge is required before you can enjoy the setting.

A player needs enough information to understand their character. A Game Master needs enough to present the part of the world currently in play. Everything else can be discovered over time.

What Is the Aelorian Archives?

The Aelorian Archives is the in-world repository through which much of Khassid’s lore is presented. Its records document deities, peoples, nations, historical events, organizations, notable individuals, vocations, creatures, and other subjects known throughout the world.

The Archives should not be mistaken for a perfectly neutral or all-knowing encyclopedia. Its records exist within Khassid. Information may have been preserved under particular authority, disputed by other sources, deliberately omitted, or released with restrictions.

You may explore the Archives in any order. There is no required reading list.

What Is Aelorian Press?

Aelorian Press is the independent publishing imprint behind Tales of Khassid. It publishes the sourcebooks, game material, stories, and other works through which the setting is brought to readers and gaming tables.

Tales of Khassid is the world you are visiting. Aelorian Press is the publisher bringing it to you.

Can I Use Khassid for My Own Campaign?

Yes. That is what it is for.

You may use the setting as written, change portions to suit your table, build new adventures within it, or take individual ideas into a campaign of your own. The published material establishes the world and gives its people and institutions weight, but the game belongs to those playing it.

What happens in play should matter.

Can I Join the Community?

Absolutely.

The Tales of Khassid community is new and still growing. Visit Ink & Lantern, the community forums, to introduce yourself, ask a question, discuss something you discovered in the Archives, share ideas from your campaign, or simply meet others exploring Khassid for the first time.

You do not need to be an expert on the setting before joining the conversation. Everyone begins somewhere, and questions are always welcome.

Where Should I Start Right Now?

Look around.

Read about a deity. Open an archival record. Explore a people or place that interests you. Visit Ink & Archive, the Tales of Khassid blog, for setting lore, creative discussions, development notes, and news about what is coming next.

You can also visit Ink & Lantern, the community forums, introduce yourself, or post a question about anything that catches your attention. Tales of Khassid is new, and both the world and its community are still growing, so check back often as new material, discussions, and archival records are added.

When The Morgdhavian Archipelago launches free on July 26, 2026, it will provide the first complete doorway into the setting for tabletop play.

Until then, the world is already open.
